Febuary 26th, 2008: Octoplex
The rvl has created a new track. A beta version of Octoplex can be heard in the latest Compiling a Network mix (v7) at:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/compilinganetwork?format=html
The mix is made by Dee3 and available for download in various formats plus track listing. You should also listen to the first six installments of this excellent series of mixes.
December 30th, 2007: rogervanlunteren.com re-launched
Yes, rvl's homepage comes to you with an enhanced look & feel. All sections have been completely overhauled and were cleaned up for better overview and navigation.
It has been a little quiet from Roger's side in the last years due to personal reasons, but he got back to producing tunes and screening old material (of which some may become available online i.e. live recordings from the scrollers, Tonkammer A and other solo live gigs).
The audio section now features mp3 formats @ 128Kbps VBR. Downloadable, free, collect them all.
Also Roger now has an official profile on myspace.com, which is another possibility of getting in contact.
We hope you enjoy the new page as much as we do, and drop us a line if you have something on your mind. We wish you all the best for 2008.
September 2006: Andrew Duke 'Consumer vs. User' Remix Contest
Roger took part in the Andrew Duke (Canadian artist and sound designer) remix contest. The track to be remixed is 'Buy First Second Free' taken off Duke's new album 'Consumer vs. User' released on Phthalo from California. The original version is available for download here. More than 100 submissions were sent from well-known and unknown artist around the globe. The best mixes will be rewarded with some software prizes, besides the mixes being released on stratagem-musik.
The contest was supported by ableton, m-audio, audiomulch, fxpansion, computer music, native instruments and remix magazine. Winners to announced mid September.
Update: Unfortunately rvl didn't not win the first prize in the remix contest. It seems he didn't even make it into the hottest selection of contestants ;-) However, rvl's remix may soon be available in the audio section, you can grab it from there then.

2004: Miss Kittin miss-taken
A careful listener has kindly informed Heimelektro Ulm that Roger's track 'Rainy Autumn Sunrise' is featured on Miss Kittin's 2003 compilation 'Radio Caroline' (Mental Groove Records). Artist and track are mislabeled as T-H-D: Hippies In Da House. The mix-up must have occurred because both artists were featured on the same side of the Vanilla EP. So the correct listing for the Radio Caroline compilation should be:
Track 17 - Roger van Lunteren: Rainy Autumn Sunrise
The discography has been updated.
January

More details of the event can be found in this Word document (German & English).

5 September 2002: Roger van Lunteren & Markus Gromann at
'the Spletizizerz'
Roger and Markus played a 40 minute gig (as a testrun for sound and camera crew) with their usual set up at Tillmann Roth's diploma event called 'the spletizizerz'.
'the spletizizerz' gathers several artists who will perform together in various ways in audio & video. The artists are provided with source audio material (free to use it or not) from the archives of motion picture sound designers Alan Splet and Ann Kroeber. Alan Splet was Lynch's sound designer for all of his films from the Grandmother through Blue Velvet. He was considered by many to have been the world's greatest motion picture sound designer. He died of cancer in 1995.
All performances will be filmed and recorded intensively for later use on the final documenting DVD. Roger & Markus' gig is planned to appear as a 'bonus track' on the DVD ('the making of' or something).
Featured artists are Ticklish, SolarX, F.M. Einheit and others. For a full list and more detailed information please visit www.spletizizerz.net.
21 June 2002: theScrollers live at the soup
Roger and Markus Gromann played at Soupculture, a new and temporary club in cologne centre (already closed again). The venue was part of an exhibition centre built in the 60'ies. Roger and Markus were situated in the cinema theatre room, where they played a quadraphonic sound plus utilization of the loud speakers built into the theatre ceiling.
They played about three hours, using powerbooks and microphones (partially used by some people in the audience).
rvl vs. gro
Roger is playing a live gig in Berlin on Fri 17 May 2002, together with his friend and colleague Markus Gromann. This special event, a battle between Roger and Markus, will be hosted by the underground club "HI-FI". Armed with PowerBooks and their favourite samples, rvl and gro will be creating their sounds and scapes spontaneously. Later the battle is to be continued at the decks.
The whole event is accompanied by an exhibition of art works by Katinka Dermietzel. The exhibition runs from Fri 17th through Tue 21st.
Venue address:
HI-FI | Chausseestrasse 22 | 10115 Berlin
A week before the Berlin gig, on Friday 10 May, the two hit the decks in Cologne (DJ set only).
February 2002: 'n-2097' on CODEX 3
'n-2097' (from the CCO 'Cashier Escape Route' CD) is featured on the CD 'Codex 3', third in a series of multimedia and digital arts CD-ROMs. The track is used in the MOODSTATS application created by Denmark's designer team Toke Nygaard and M. Schmid of k10k.net. The application enables you to keep track of your mental and emotional states over any period of time and allows you to share and compare your statistics with other users via moodstats.com.
The CD-ROM, which is part of a 56 page four color book, can be ordered through codexseries.com.

2002: RVL & Heimelektro Ulm
Roger visited the Heimelektro-Ulm office in Munich to discuss his new album, scheduled for release later this year. A number of tracks have been chosen, but nothing definitive yet. The album will be produced by a sub-label of Heimelektro that has not yet been named.
The label is to feature solely recordings that have been made with an old 70's studio standard tape machine which Heimelektro boss Bernd Karner bought especially for this label. The contents of the tape will be mastered directly at the pressing plant. However, no digital signal processing, the recording and mastering techniques are absolutely analog.
As usual the favourite format is vinyl, though a CD Version is also planned.
